Where does the ministry want to utilize programming? In what way, shape, or form does Ableton benefit the ministry. This also is where an assessment of skill level is made in order to understand how to best equip your next programmer. This hour can be before payment of either Masterclass. Hour 2 This hour discusses the bare basics of Ableton, making sure to focus in on how it can benefit your ministry in a live setting and as a recording tool if needed. This goes over how to source stems and tracks in an effective way, including good resources to use and resources to avoid. While there are many methods to do this, there are some methods that are more efficient. By using the methods taught in this course, much needed infrastructure is set up that gives control back to the band allowing room for creativity. Hour 4 This hour utilizes the previous steps to get PCO (Planning Center Online) organization up to speed: creating rehearsal tracks, number charts, chord charts, even lyric charts that match the arrangements of the songs. This hour is super administrative, but is incredibly important for any programmer to be well versed in. After building your arrangements in hour three, building sessions becomes incredible simple to do. This is the time where the worship flow gets set, stems are turned on or off, the tracks are assigned and the session is saved and ready to play. This step also includes exporting and utilizing a weekend flow. Hour 6 A key reason Ableton is so valuable and worth using during a worship set is the creativity it allows. This hour goes over how to make creative changes to your sets that allow for really fun worship experiences. This is so much information to cover in a short amount of time and these new concepts should be put into practice alongside a professional. Hour 8 This is the last hour of the Half-Masterclass, but there is still so much to learn. Midi devices are incredibly powerful, not just for automating services, but helping run your session. This hour will go over Ableton MIDI drivers like loops, stops, and redirects. These are incredibly useful when needing to be super flexible in an Ableton set which give you the infrastructure needed to have amazing, spontaneous moments. Hour 10 Let’s take a step back and add some features for how you build arrangements before even getting to the session. With pre-programming, programmers have the flexibility to drag in songs that already have stems turned off and on, channels assigned and routed, and ready to play with no prep work at all. Making a custom arrangement can be a daunting task. Flexing and manipulating stems to sound like you need them to to match your creative vision is no easy task, but it is incredibly valuable. This hour takes a look at Hour 6 but takes it to a whole new level. Ability to change chords even in tracks, automating tempo changes even in tracks, getting tracks to behave like a musician on stage is crucial for letting creativity drive the worship experience. Hour 12 Lets polish up your tracks. After all the changes are made: tempo changes, key changes, arrangement changes; your stems can be bend a little out of shape.
